Writing A One Page Sales Letter: Is It Worth It?

A sales letter can offer huge benefits for a business. This is your way of promoting the business and letting people know you are out there. One of the most commonly asked questions about writing sales letters involves the length. Is there an appropriate length it should be, is a one page sales letter enough?

There is truly no specific answer to this but on average a sales letter is from two to six pages long. There are certain guidelines that should be followed when writing your sales letter. Start off with a headline that captures the reader’s attention and makes them want to read on. Often people do not realize it when writing a letter but the average reader will only spend a second or two looking at the title to determine whether or not they want to give the actual letter a chance.

There are a few bases that need to be covered if you are going to be writing a sales letter no matter what the length. It needs to be short and sweet. When there is an effective title used, a one page letter can sometimes even be a better idea than a longer sales letter. This should lead the letter into the body where you need to use your sales pitch.

Now it is just up to you to make sure you use your time wisely and talk to your readers about everything you want to. People need a clear, concise vision of what you are offering and why they should pay attention to your business when there are a million more like it out there. By the end of your letter they should know what steps to take afterwards. Another benefit of the one page sales letter is that you have to put much more thought into every single word used.

You want to bring everything to a nice close at the end of the letter. There should be no loose ends, no readers wondering just what the point of the letter was and what they are supposed to do now. This way you have a sales letter that is pretty much completely written for you and all you have to worry about is filling in the blanks. Write it to the best of your ability and your profit will improve tenfold.
